As we think about 2021 and what we would like to accomplish, it is a good time to reach out and ask for help or to bounce some ideas off of an unbiased set of ears and eyes. If you are interested, contact me. I am here to help.

I run a lot. When I am not running, I think about running. When I was younger, I just replaced running with windsurfing, theater, surfing, teaching and cycling. I get hyper focused on things and wear them out many times.
I have not windsurfed but a handful of times in 20 years but did it everyday for 12. Same with the theater, ten years in, 15 years out. Teaching too. Ten years in the classroom. Two out.
Then again, I have never set out to want to do something for my whole life with the exception of a marriage, and that I failed at. Say la vie. Life goes on.
The end of the year is always an interesting time of the year. We reflect on what we have done, what we meant to do and did not, and those things came along the way and surprised us. Covid 2019 was certainly a surprise to me is the duration of the pandemic and how much it has affected my life.
The good news is that I have learned a bunch too. I have learned how to be a better listener and to want less. Both are traits that I will nurture and hold on to.
One thing I have learned about myself is I take catastrophe usually as a sign to shift paths or take a different exit than planned. I think when I reflect on my life, my big shifts are outcomes of hardship and catastrophe averted.
Covid 2019 has forced my hand to change that pattern. I am not gearing up for a move and I am not shifting my athletic venture to a different sport. I am settled in as a runner and trying to build a coaching business among other things to help me survive.
The coaching business is saturated by either flashy big brand companies or superstar sponsored Alpha athletes. I am neither. I am a low-key runner who loves running and racing and pushing his body to perform. I don’t run in the fanciest gear and I don’t follow all the latest trends. I found what worked for me and would like to help you find what works for you.
Does that mean I don’t have palmares? No. I have won races as a cyclist and a runner. I have set course records on two continents and am usually on the podium. So I am a winner, but it’s not why I run or race.
I run to be free of worry for a time. I don’t worry about anything when I run because when I do; I find myself stubbing my toe or kissing the dirt. So I run to run. To feel my body go.
And I love the processes of running. It’s why I race. I enjoy teaching out on the latest gear trends like shoes and hydration systems and nutrition. I like packing my vest the night before a race, pinning the number on my chest and going. Going as hard as I can at a pace in which I feel good but am still covering ground.
Over time I have found what works for me and have helped others find what works for them. So we will write your plan for you with you and we will figure out together what nutritional and gear choices work for you. I am here to guide you at being the runner you want to be.
Not everyone wants to win. Some just want to finish injury free, get a medal at the end and some great photos and memories along the way.
Hope all is well. I am here to help.
